Our second project for “Change for Jabal Al Taj” was the refurbishment of a minimart for a woman to provide a source of income for her family. With the help of community organizers and contractors, we defined the scope, requirements, and cost. We assisted the contractor and craftsmen in designing and renovating part of her home to make it a suitable space for a minimart. We met with another institution and secured the funding. The final step was procuring the initial inventory from wholesalers and helping stock the minimart. In doing so, we helped provide a means for her to gain regular income and improve the living conditions for her and her family.
