Growing up, I would often see older relatives sitting and playing backgammon: a traditional and popular game in the Arab world. They would play for hours on weekends and holidays.
However, the game was not very appealing to younger generations. I decided to make a modern backgammon set using acrylic instead of the typical wood to make it more attractive to younger players. To maintain the connection with Arab culture, I was inspired to incorporate the colors of the Jordanian flag by making the triangles green and white and the checkers black and red.
